Government Notices HAURAKI GOLD MINING DISTRICT. NOTICE UNDER SECTIONS 41 AND 84 OF THE GOLD MINING DISTRICTS ACT, 1873. ■No. 1. — APPLICATION FOR LICENSE TO CONSTRUCT A WATER RACE. Warden's Office, Grahnmstown, 16th February, 1881. A PPLTCATION has been made by ADAM J\ Pobteb for a License to construct a Water Race for Mining purposes near Waiteto, Obinemuri, commencing at a point on a branch of the said river, near the read to Mataora, and terminating at a point on the said river, as shown on plan to be lodged here within fourteen days. Tie length of such race is about one mile and a quarter, and its intended course is eoutheasc and north-west. The race will be capable of carrying eight sluies heads of water, and the number of uluice heads of forty inches each which it is proposed to appropriate is five. NOTICE is therefore given, that on the 18th day of March, 1881, a License will be granted to the above-named Adam Porter for the said Water Bace, unless valid objection thereto be in the meantime made in writing and lodged at this Office not leßs than seven clear days before that date.
