Government Notices HAUEAKI GOLD MINING DISTEICT. NOTICE UNDEE SECTIONS 41 AND 84 OF THE GOLD MINING DISTEICTS ACT, 1873. No. 1. — APPLICATION FOE LICENSE TO CONSTEUCT A WATEE EACE. Warden's Office, Grahamstown, 16th Febrnary, 1881. A PPLICATION has been made by Adam A Pobteb for a License to construct a Water Race for Mining purposes near Waiteto, Ohinemuri, commencing at a point on a branch of the said river, near the road to Mataora, and terminating at a point on the said river, as shown on plan to be lodged here within fourteen days. Tiie length of such race is about one mile and a quarter, and its intended course is south-east and north-wesfc. The race will be capable of carrying eight sluice heads of water, and the number of sluice heads of forty inches each which it is proposed to appropriate is five. NOTICE is therefore given, that on the 18fch day of March, 1881, a License will be granted to the above-named Adam Porter for the said Water Race, unless valid objection thereto be in the meantime made in writing and lodged at this Office not less than seven clear days before that date.
