MONATAIARI.
The following is the mine manager's report -.—Point Russell, creek level : The cross-cut north is going through a good class of country, but nothing lias yet been intersected. Nonpareil: Ttie adit level has broken into the old workings, making now a straight drive home to the shaft. I may mention that the old drive has fallen in, and will require re-timbering. There is now no good air coming through from the shaft. A stope has been started oa No. 9 reef, in the bottom of the 150 feet level, east of No. 2 winze. This block of ground should pay, as very good gold was obtained in driving the level along. Eighty feet level: The south cross-cut is now in the Morning Star section, and is going through stringers of quartz, but nothing worth notice as yet. Our stopes above 80 feet level are looking better than they have done lately. The stopes at tunnel and 132 feet levels being very hot, I have decided to extend the Euranui whim round level, and a contract to drive this has been started, the old level and passes having fallen in. This drive will open up some payable ground, which is/at present too hot for working.— Robehs 'Comer.
