AUCKLAND.
This day,
Francis Sheppart, a young swell, was convicted at the Police Court this Dooming for stealing various article of personal property from the pockets of members of the Aucklaud Rowing Club and other associates. He was committed for trial for the most serious offence, and sentenced to eighteen weeks' imprisonment for the
various minor offences.
A cart ioaded with a ton of firewood passed over the stomach of a little boy six years old in Parnell without breaking his ribs or injuring his spiue. It is believed, the boy will recover. The medicaLmen consider the case a most remarkable }one. The Australian cricketers play to-
morrow. The Aucklaud Kifle representatives go to Nelson to-morrow:
