Government Notices HAURAKI GOLD MINING DISTRICT. NOTICE UNDER SECTIONS 41 AND 84 OF THE GOLD MINTNG DISTRICTS ACT, 1873. No. 1. — APPLICATION FOR LICENSE TO CONSTRUCT A WATEE RACE. Warden's Oifice, Grahamstown, 16th February, 1881. A PPLICATION has been made by Adam J\. Pobteb for a License to construct a Water Eace for Mining purposes near Waitete, Ohinemuri, commencing at a point on a branch of the said river, near the road to Mataora, and terminating at a point on the said river, as shown on plan to be lodged here within fourteen days. Tiie length of such race is about one mile and a quarter, and its intended course is south-ease and north-west. The race will be capable of carrying eight sluics heads of water, and the number of cluice heads of forty inches each which it is proposed to appropriate is five. NOTICE is therefore given, that on the 18th day of March, 1881, a License will be granted to the above-named Adam Porter for the said Water Eace, unless valid objection thereto be in the meantime made in writing nnd lodged at this Office not less than seven clear days before that date.
