PIGEONGRAMS.

THE TE AEOHA MURDER.

(FKOM OVU OWN COBBESPONDENT.)

Te Aeoha, Tuesday

There is an opinion prevalent here that; the deceased Maori was murdered by on& of the Tauranga natives. The circumstance that gives ground for this conjecture is that some time ago, the deceased was considered guilty of murdering a Tauranga native, although the charge was not sheeted home to him. They, however, swore they would have his life, and at the recent race meeting there were a number of the Tauranga natives present. This opinion is also held by Mr Gilding, an interpreter, who is well acquainted with native manners and customs, and thoroughly versed in the knowledge of the circumstances of the outrages for which Himiona was blamed.

This, day, 2.30 p.m. Nothing fresh has transpired regarding the murder.

Hone Werahiko will probably go on a prospecting tour to Tub.ua shortly. He has been invited to visit the Sing Country in March when the question of prospecting for gold will be discussed.
