This day Hewi and the Government.

At the Police Court to-day one boy was sentenced to one month's imprisonment, and several others to lesser penalties, for stealing grape 3 from Mason's vinery.

The Atterney-General inspected the house built for Eewi at Kihikihi, accompanied by that Chief, who again refused to take possession until a Crown Grant had been given him.

At the Harbor Board election to-day, in the question of the construction of a big dock, Ihe greatest interest was manifested, and D. H. McKenzie, Chairman of the Board, who refused to pledge himself to carry out a dock, was defeated. Messrs Stone, Compton, and Isaacs, all in favor of a new dock were elected.
