AUCKLAND.
This day
At the Police Court to-day, Purcell, a contractor and a bankrupt, was charged by the trustee with two ofiences of removing goods in his estate and one charge of forging a promissory note for £300. The case was remanded.
The City Council have resolved to charge a penny admission to the new Corporation baths.
In consequence of the Government refusing the repeated requests made by the North Auckland Cattle Board for the removal of the restrictions against driving cattle from the Southern to the Northern districts, the Board have virtually abandoned their functions by neglecting to hold meetings, on the ground that the action of the Government implies want of confidence in their judgment.
The grain crops in all parts of the Auckland Province are unusually good.
