GISBORNE.
This day,
The Natives Lands Court presided over by Judges O'Brien and Heale has refused an application to vest the freehold of the Ponawa block, about 20,000 acres in three trustees instead of the fifty or sixty native owners who had signed the trust deed to the three trustees named. On the application of Mr Eees, a case has been stated for the Supreme Court, and Mr Eees has left for Wellington with, the view of getting the points at issue speedily decided, as a numberof the Lady Jocelyn's Belfast immigrants are anxious to settle on the block.
