KURANUI HILL.

The Manager reports on the 29th:— 360 ft level: The reef has now continued its westerly course a distance of 36 feet. It is still big and strong, but in all that distance I have been unable to obtain a color of gold, and under such circumstances any crushing of a large trial lot would be a waste of money. In the " end" the reef is now showing au inclination to turn towards the north, which is its proper bearing. Junction: The parcel of 28 tons from Pearce's leader, together with the quartz got from the winze in the Porerty, produced 103 ounces amalgam, and there is still a portion of Junction headings noL berdaned. Poverty: On account of a difficulty with a party of tributers, the winze under Pearce has been suspended tiuce Friday week. Barry's lode: In driving on the course of No. 2 lode we have passed through several bunches of quartz, but the leader has not yet resumed a regular form. To-day there is a little stream of water coming from the face. Tn the stopes on No. 1 lode we. have " holed" to old stopes that seem to have been worked not on our lode but on a branch in om\hanging-wall, and of which we have seen nothing in our drives below. Tbe crushing from No. 1 is shaping about half an ounce per ton, but the parcel from the drive and leading stope on No. 2 is very poor. Tributes : The tribute crushings are, without exception, poor. Battery : The orushings will be finished on Wednesday, and details will follow in due course.—J. W. Wicker.
