A fatal accident occurred at Guthrie and Larnach's factory yesterday afternoon. Thomas Jeffrey, a young man, got entangled in one of the belts, and death was instantaneous, his brains being dashed oat and one leg being torn from the body. ......

A fire at Apeho yesterday destroyed three, cottages belonging to Harland, Greenfield, and Colomore. The two latter are uninsured. Harland's is covered by insurance in the Victoria.
