Splendid weather for the Regatta, especially for the sailing races.
The Intercolonial Gig Eaoe for £100 was postponed till later in the dsy.
There are only three local* entries for Champion Schooner Race, £100. Eight vessels entered: The Caledonia, Linda Weber, Edith, Sovereign, Bell Brandon, Torea, Borealis, Myrtle. A good Btart and fine sail down the harbor. At the North Head, the Sorereign was leading with Borealis and Edith close up. For Kifle Association firing, Maxwell won Beck's cup with the fiae score of fifty-two out of a possible sixty. Latee. In the large Schooner Eace at two o'clock Sovereigu and Torea had rounded Tiri Tiri, Sovereign leading by three quarters of a mile. The race is now between these two. In the Champion Schooner Eace, the Sovereign won, beating the Torea by 4f minutes on a race of forty miles. • In the large Cutter Eace Fanny is leading, with Kangitira, which has been the winner for two years, second.
