NAVAL BAND.
•'■ (To the Editor of the Evening Sour.) . Bir,—While, walking along the beach last evening with' some friends we were all greatly charmed with the amount of talent displayed by the band of tbe Naval Brigade, whicb:was having one. of its usual evening practices. Doeiit not seem a shame to think that in a large place like the Thames, where there are '' so many good bands' and so many lovers of music,, there should W no place where the public oould |p and enjoy it for a few hours o«ce or iwiceaweek? Now, that there are so other amusements for the people in the way of cricket, Ac, would it not be a good move to try and get one of the local bands to play on Saturday afternoons for a' shor time in the Parawai or Tararu Gardens Cheap •eason tickets might be issued which would .defray all expenses that might arise.. Such a •top as this could not help being a success if managed properly. I sincerely hope that something of the sort will be started shortly, ud; that' the public may have a chance of a little outdoor amusement. At present tbete is awe,;.;--- ' ------ V'A.&.A.. -
