NEW WHAU.
The rise afc the eastern end of the drive on the hanging wall leader in the intermediate level is now up a distance of '40 feet, which leaves only about 6 feet to rise before holing through. A few colors of gold are seen when breaking down. The winze at the western end of the level is down 20 feet, and the reef is getting much larger. It is now about 18 inches thick, though colors of gold are occasionally seen in it,-the stone is not quite so rich as formerly. S toping on the hanging wall leader will, probably be starte<| next week, as the rise will be through by that time.
