The Wesleyan Conference.
The eighth annual session opened last night, 26 members being present. The retiring president, Rev. R. Lee, delivered an address referring to the progress of the past year, and the business before meeting. The election of offioers was proceeded with. The Rev. J. B. Richardson, of St. Albans, was elected President by a large majority. The first ballot lor secretary, between the Rev. W. Morley and R. Bavin, at the former's request the latter was elected. The Rev. H. J. Williams was appointed assistant secretary ; Rev T. G. Carr, journal secretary ; Rev. G. Bond, corresponding secretary. The newly elected president was then inducted, and delivered an address. Cordial votes of thanks were passed to the retiring president and secretary. The Revs. Buddie and seoretary Morley, and others addressed the meeting, and the Rev. Buddie, who has • recently returned from England, was cordially welcomed, and gave an interesting account of his Home experiences.
At the Wesleyau Conference held last night at seven o'clock, the first draft of stations shows the following contemplated ministerial appointments lor the year :— Auckland (Grafton Road), Revs. Oliver and Isitt; Upper Thames, Rev. Luxford ; Wanganui, Rev. Williams ; Rangitikei, Rev. Worker; Sandon, Rev. W. Harper; Palmerston North, Rev. L. Hudson; Wellington, Revs. Kirk and Farclough ; Napier, Rev. Buna • Nelson, Rev. Lee ; Richmond, Rev." Berry ; Hokitika, Rev. S. Lawry ; Ly ttelton, Rev. Simmons ; Springstop, Revs, timalley and P. Martin; Leeston, Rev. Armitage ; Itaiapoi, W. B. Martin; Timaru, Rev. Beck; Temuka, Rev. Law; Mornington, Rev. F. Dews bury; Balclutha, Revs. Gray, Milton, and Buttle ; Invercargill, Rev. Bavin ; Tapanui, Rev. Murray. Circuits not named above to have the same ministers as last year.
