The reef is about three feet in thickness, and at the intermediate level, from the eastern winze, the manager has opened cut on the hanging-wall leader, and though only a few feet hard been driven, the leader bid a fair to shortly become equally as good as where worked at the next lerel. The body of quartz is about fifteen inches in thickness in the nearest face, and, besides slendid mineral indications, has shown strong colors of the precious metal during the last day or two. On the underlay there will be about 60 feet of backs. In the leading stope on the main reef on the eastern side of the winze there is a run of quartz. Colors of gold being frequently seen when breaking it down. The block here should prove" payable, as good gold was left in the floor of the level above. At the 70 feet lerel, the - old western stopes are producing payable crushing dirt. The contractors for driving on the hanging-wall leader are making fair progress with their work, the country being of a favorable nature, but there is no noticeable change in the appearance of the leader. The stopes here are producing excellent crushing dirt, with occasional hauls of picked stone.
