The" action arises out of the stranding orHhe ship Hyderabad at Horowhenua, near Foxton, in 1878, and plaintiff", sues for £2315 on a general average, and £220^ for services in endeavoring to save thU! ship, loss of tackle, etc. The case will probably last several days.
A young man last night, in attempting to jump on the train while in motion, slipped, and the wheel passing over his foot, crushed it so severely as to neces-i sitate amputation.
