"WILLIAM WOOD."
(To the Editor of the Evening Stab.)
Sib,—l have read with some interest the letters Mr Wood has sent to your journal in answer to my queries, and after having read them, I find actually no answer, but a wretchedly egotistical tirade in which Mr Wood tells me he believes with John the Apostle, as if forsooth, the mere fact of him believing in a man like John would warrant him in his blatant tirade against all those who do not believe in him. He tells me nothing in support of his rediculous assertion as to the end of the world, but to prove his inconsistency, I have only to. refer to his letter in Saturday's issue in which he says : "At the name of Jesus every knee should bow : of the heavenlies, of the earthlies, of the infernals. It will be ages yet befoee THE GKEAT FACT 13 FULLY APPARENT." And yet in the face of this last assertion, will Mr Wood still maintain the close approach of the Son of God and his second reign ? Go home, Mr Wood-— keep your doctrines to yourself, and do not persist in calling yourself one of the chosen few who will have heaven as their reward, until you have plucked the beam out of your own eye instead of jeering at the mote which you imagine exists in our eyes because we do not believe the absurd utterances of a religious enthusiast. I am, &c, Eucalyptus.
