Melbourne, Saturday. THE INTERCOLONIAL REGATTA. The Challenge yachtiag race in the Intercolonial Regatta was sailed to day. There were six enterics. Victoria yacht Janet 1 Sydney's Secret ... 2 Auckland's Taniwha 3 There was a fine finish. [Stab's Melbourne Special-] WILLIAMSTOWN, 3 p.m. The weather 10-day was splendid, with a light easterly wind, which is freshening. The yachts got away to a splendid start. In passing the lightship, .Edith was first followed by Janefc and May Queen, the Auckland yacht Taniwha being close up, and in good position. May Holland, the well known waterman of Sandridge,. sails ! the Taniwha. 3.26 pin. The following was the result:—First time round the course-?-Janet, 2hrs. JSOmins- ; Secret, -2hrs. 55tuins. ; Edith, 2hrs. 55mins. 15secs.; Zephyr and May Queen followed. The breeze is freshening. The second time was sailed round in the same order. On the (bird starboard tack Taniwha passed the Secret. 'Jhe race finished in the following order:—Janet, 1; Taniwha, 2 (2mins. 30secs. behind). ; Secret takes second prize on time allowance. The finish was a splendid race between the three boats. Melboubne, January 16. The Intercolonial Yachting Regatta, held yesterday in Port Phillip, passed off successfully. There was a large attendance of flag ships, and the-weather was fine, with a good breeze.;

The Grand Challenge Race was over a 45-mile course, and was!won, as already telegraphed, by the Janef, which came in a minute ahead of the Taniwha, followed by the Secret, which toot second prize on her time allowance.
