Mining Review of the Week.
Nothing of any consequence has occurred since the resumption of work after the holidays, and the past week has been of an uneventful nature. Prospecting in the different creeks—the Waiotahi especially—is very active, and any day may bring forth results of a cheerful character. To the Karaka and Hape district we may also look forward for something good shortly. Hearn and party, the tributers in the Hape Creek Mines, are actively engaged driving for a wellknown good leader, and various other tribute parties are also on the look out in that district. The Alburnia mine is at present being effectively managed, and any day 7 may come upon something good, and as an index to the feeling, its "shares have an upward tendency. From the Moanatairi we have not heard anything further than what was contained in the last manager's report. From Te Aroha it will be. seen by our pigeongrams to-day that a revival of confidence in the field has taken place, and new applications hare been sent in to the Warden; also, that crushing power will soon bo at the command of the Te Arohans to test the value of their quartz.
