AUSTRALIAN.
Sydney, This day.
The first sitting of the adjourned Intercolonial Conference was held here yesterday. The representatives of all the Colonies, except New Zealand, were present. The business transacted was purely of a preliminary character, the programme of proceedings of Conference being alone dealt with.
Skuthorpe further telegraphs that he has in his possession the telescope which was presented by the Governor on behalf of the colonists to Leichardt the explorer.
