This day. ThQ Vice-legal Tour. Tho Hon. Mr Itolieston does not accompany the Governor on his tour through the North Island. The Hon. Mr Dick accompanies His Excellency as far as Auckland, where he (Mr Dick) meets the San Francisco mail boat, and proceeds to Sydney to represent New Zealand at the intercolonial conference to be held there this month.
A man named J W. Jordan, formerly clerk in the Legislative Council was found dead outside the Railway hotel, Lower Hutt, at 5 o'clock this morning. Jordan was last seen alive last night at the hotel when ho was under the influence of liquor. The landlord had him put to bed and locked the door. It is supposed that Jordan attempted to get out of the window when he fell and waskilled, his
neck being broken. The deceased recently received £700 and <. has been drinking heavily of late.
