Specimens of Caswell Sound Marble can be seen at any of the Museums in New Zealand; the Chamber of Commerce, Wellington, or on application to any of the Officers of the Company. In introducing this eligible investment to the notice of the public, tbe promoters desire to state that the Company's rights comprise the best, most available, extensive, and perhaps most valuable Marble deposits in the known world, at all events in the Southern Hemisphere. This is sufficiently proved by | Caswell Sound Marble securing the first prize | at the late Sydney Exhibition against Italian Statuary and other valuable varieties. They also, wish to dwell upon its known certainty and non-speculative character, the ultimate success of this venture, being now well established. The lowest quotation for this Marble is 12s per foot, and ranges up to £5. Larger blocks are, however, much more valuable, some pure White Statuary, without flaws, realising as much as £20,000 sterling., in Eurojie. The or-'iaary price for a block suitable for a life sizj human statue being about £1000. The present cost of producing <. this Marble by raaiiu*l labour only is about 2s per cubic foot, f. o. b. These fignres may appear.incredible, but they are nevertheless absolutely correct. Thus, taking the cost of production as sta'ed find the very lowest, wholesale quotations at 12* per foot, gives the apparently fabulous ruinitrmin rate of 500 per cent, profit. It is, therefore, no visionary matter, as ihcse are leading comra rcial lines and the values well known: th i facilities of production, shipment, high quality of product, giTing a vast advantage over »ny like property in the world. We will also venture to pre« diet that the value of the Company's shares will increase at least 300 per cent, within twelve months of issue. Referring to cen« sumption of these commodities, it is also enormous. The consumption of Marble, Portland Cement and Lime, in the Australian Colonies alone during the last twelve.'months has been £2,872,600 sterling, and is rapidly increasing. Cuswelt Sound is a commodious and safe harbor for the largest vrsaels in all weathers, the works of the Company being situated at the water's edge. The Government of this colony hue also promised to favorably consider special grants and concessions in aid as 'soon as the Company is successfully floated. For further particulars re other minerals found at theTSound, copper, coal, gold, &c, also the manufacture of hydraulic cement, lime, 4c, together with scientific, professional, Government, and other, reports, with details of the objects and intentions of the Company, we refer to the detailed Prospectus, which can be obtained upon application to any of the officers of the Com* paay'e Agents, the Bunk of New Zealand, at any of their branches in this coleny and Australia, or from any of the Company's Brokers, through whom all applications f«r Shares must be made before the 31st January, 1881. Note. —All Shares will be allotted by priority of application.
Applications for Shares to be m&d* to Mr John Lbydon, Auctioneer, Thames, who has been, appointed Broker to tht Company in this (Thamn) District. . 1603
