The weather was windy and threatening this morning for the Lyttelton Regatta, but it cleared up in the afternoon. Several thousand people visited Lyttelton. The following are the chief races up to 5 p.m. : —Champion Sailing' Race, for vessels under 156 tons—Annie Hill, schooner, Ist; E. N. Cameron, schooner, 2nd; Zior, 3rd. Yacht Race—Dove (of Lyttelton), Ist. Open Boats Sailing Race— Prosperous, Ist; Dauntless, 2nd ; Blanche 3rd. The Blanche came in almost level with the Dauntless. Pair-oar Stump Outriggers—Tvaiapoi, 1 st; Christchurch Rowing Club, 2nd; Lyttelton, 3rd. Double Sculling Race — Christchurch Rowing Club, Ist; Kaiapoi, 2nd ; Union Rowing Club, _3rd. This was a grand race, the Christchurch Club winning by two feet. The canoe iace was splendidly contested by Jones, of Christchurch, and Bradley, of Timaru •, it resulted in a dead., heat. Owing to the weather, the four oared inrigger and outrigger races did not come off; they will take place on Monday. The canoe race dead heat will also come off on Monday. The racing was the best ever known in Lyttelton.
