This day.
A. six-roomed house at u St. Leonard's, ©wned and occupied by John Ballantyne, was totally destroyed by fire this morning. The house was insured in the New Zealand office for £250, but furniture was not insured, so Ballantyne is a heavy loser. . . . Thirty-one Maori prisoners were released this morning and left for Taranaki under charge of Mr I'arris.
