Intelligence from the King Country reports that Tawhaio is establishing a large settlement at Kawhia and constructing a roud in order to connect that place with fJkurangi. The natives have repaired the old flour mill and propose to erect another at Kawhia. They prefess to be anxious for peace, and disclaim any sympathy with Parihaka or the murder of Miss Dobie.,
There is a dispute between two sections of the Ngatimaniapoto under Eewi and Hawaura respectively. The former recently placed Messrs Tole on the disputed block of land near Orakau, Hawauru representing the objectors, turned off the surveyors and threatens to burn down Tole's house on the block.
At Ngaruawahia the other night, a train passed through of which no notice bxd been given, when the gate on the rail wry bridge was smashed and carried away on the cow-catcher. '
