We notice that our political grocer, Mr Or. B. Hansen, baa for the present ceased bis political skits on the " situation," and now wholly devotes himself to business. He calls attention to his large stock of requisites for Christmaß, which he intends (o Bell at low prices. His teas and butter, he contends, are of th- best qualities on the Thames. As usual, he will no doubt effect a large sale.

A bbpobt has reached Auckland that a party of prospector! have discovered a rich reef in (he Fatetere Block, some 25 milei distant from this field. Further information via Cambridge is expected on Monday. A coach left (his morning at daybreak for Hamilton, passengers being thus enabled to catch the mid«day train at Hamilton and go right through to Auckland in one day. The couch fare (owing to opposition) has been reduced frjni fif een shillings to seven shillings and mpeflce, but even ilk this great reduction the railway fare makes the cost of travelling dearer than via Thames, the fare to the Thames being ten shillings, and second class per Rotomahana five shillings. Total, fifteen shillings by steamer from Te Aroha to Auckland.
