Thames Boys' and Girls' High School.

The prizes gained by the pupils attending the above school were presented to the successful competitors by Mrs Ebrenfried this afternoon. A large number of friends and relations of pupils Were present. The following is' the prize list :— Fibst Class. (A): Highest aggregate marks, F. Ernest Adams; second prize, Henr.j Keary. (B): Highest, aggregate marks, Dora McFarland ; second prize aggregate marks, Beatrice Watkin. Latin prize—Ernest Adams. History—Henry Keary. Arithmetic—J. S.Burns. Second Class. Highest aggregate marks, Maud Hall; second prize aggregate marks, M. Era Bagnall. Thibd Class. Highest aggregate marks, Jessie Murray; second prize, Margaret Ashman. Special Peize. Essay prize' (given by Sir Julius Vogel, entitled " Beeton's Dictionary of Universal Knowledge"), B. Watkin, J. S. Burns, equal. With regard to the essay prize, the Rev. S. J. Neill wrote saying" that both the essays of J. S. Burns and B. Watkin were so full and well written that it was , impossible .to tell which was the best; He suggested that the Board should give each a prize. It is worthy of remark, that nearly all the prizes were taken by young ladies, a fact which should testify to the progress made by them during the term.
