The Union Sash and Door Company hare resolved to raise £40,000 in debentures, in order to reduce the rate of interest on debts due to public and the bank. The Somata Road. The Government have sent a message to the obstinate chief Tukukino, stating that they are determined to iiave the road constructed through the Komata Block, in order to further open up communication with the Te Aroha. Tukukino has been hitherto obstructive.
The citizens' testimonial to Mr Peacock, the retiring Mayor, is in course of preparation. I
The erection of a glass manufactory in Auckland has been nearly completed.
