Wk are glad to "see that Mr Lou'ib Ehrenfried obtained two second prizes at the late Melbourne Bihibition for ale and porter. The beverages manufactured by Mr Ehrenfried at his brewery, Mackay street, p»e well-known as excellent for quality and tone. The firm have long endeavoured to supply an exceptionally good article, and have always succeeded. The two prizes obtained will add to the reputation the plea of Messrs Ehrenfried have acquired, and we trust that they may always maintain their universal popularity.

Ekmbmbeb that the Sightascope will be exhibited in Brown street this evening. The views are many of them entirely new, and the prizes are numerous and valuable. A watch, plated ware (including cruets), baskets, and toys of all sorts will be given away tonight. The sea lion and the armour worn by the Kelly gang will also be exhibited.
Wfl understand that an information has been laid against Clifford and Thompson, who are undergoing imprisonment in Mount Eden gaol, for stealing a case of Old Tom and a quantity of tea from the Facifio Hotel. The robbeiy was a most bare-faoed one, end was committed in broad daylight.

The memorial of association of the Te Aroha No. 1 South Company has been signed by all the shareholders. Mb Yatjohan brought down a few pounds of stone from Te Aroha, which will be crashed to-day.
