RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT
THIS DAT. (Before H. JLeurick, Esq., E.M.V BBEACH OF THE HABBOUB EEGULATIONB. Captain Bobinson of the cutter Henry, was summoned for a committal of a breach of bye-law No. 2 by failing to report the arrival of his Teasel at the Thames within 25 hours after date of arrival. Mr Miller appeared for the Harbour Master, Captain Davies. The defendant admitted the offence, but said he did not report himself because Captain Daries told (him that he need not always report himself. i Mr Miller said the necessity for reporting to Mr Dimes was to enable him to collect the rates on the carglis brought by different people to the port. The 1 defendant had complained of having to attend so often at the Harbour Master's office, and the Harbour Master had told him that he could send a memo, of the cargo carried, so that it would save him the trouble of attending so often. His Worship said that defendant had pleaded guilty to the charge, but that then were faults on both sides, and that
the Harbour Master had done wrong in S anting the concession to the defendant, c should fine the defendant Is and costs of the court.
Mr Miller: v Will Your Worship allow professional costs ? " His Worship: No, Mr Miller, I think both parties were to blame. Court adjourned.
