A* i* shown from the following interesting. TALE OF THE PACIFIC! A TALE OF THE PACIFIC. Win. Opperman, Esq., a wealthy ialand trader, was for some month* lying ill at ITappemamma, an island of the Kingrat Group, in the Pacific. He had been aeixed with rheumatic ferer, which waa followed by complicated disorder* of a terribly terere nature, assuming the form of a *pecie* of palsy ne?er before known. The auffincr't limb* (welled, the leg* lost all sensibility to pain $ the foot covld be wrenohed vtund or the akin pierced with* a lanoe without in flicting the slightest suffering. Hie aiek nun was evidently unoonseious of his having lags, and his brain was seriously affected as if with lunacy. In this deplorable state he was kindly brought from the islands to Auokj land by Mr H. Henderson in the schooner Coronet, Captain Moeller, and, being a German, he was received by the German Consul, G. Yon der Heyde, Esq., and placed in the District Hospital, where.he Motived treatment for three weeks with no vindication of improvement, his case being pronounced by one and all a hopeless one. j , The captain of the Coronet, knowing that extraordinary ouT.es bad been effected by the> use of Hitobens* Celebrated Blood Bestorer requested the proprietor of the Blood Bestorer to take the case in hand, and a contract was entered into of "No cure, no pay." Mr Hitchens proceeded to* the Hospital, ex* amined the invalid and found him in an apparently dying state, with searaely a spark of life left. Mr Hitchens ordered the suffering man to be removed to his (Mr H**) private residence, wbere his wants could be personally attended to by Mr Hitohens. The latter administered . the medicine (the Blood Bestorer) and used the ointment freely. Meanwhile clergymen called, pronouncing the case beyond the power of man to effect a cure. However after six weeks the effect of the medicine became wonderfully apparent. The Blood Bestorer had acted steadily but surely en- the blood; the deadly impurities were gradually eliminated from the system I until the stream of life .flowed unchecked in its natural channels over the entire man. The brain became clear and active, and the limbs once again rejoiced in natural oiroula* tion, the patient rising to his feet cured of diseases which had baffled the skill of leading physicians, a living preof of the wonderful healing powers of Hitchens' Celebrated Blood Bestorer. TESTIMONIAL Auckland, N.Z. To H. A. H. Hitchens, Esq. Before leaving Auckland on my return voyage to the Islands, I have to perform the pleasing duty of acknowledging the sjMprising ' cure I have received at your hands. Coming to Auckland as I did a dying man, being palsied and generally unoonseious, and hearing from others that no hope Of recovery was held out by medical men, I look upon you now as the preserver of my life. I am convinced that to your medicine alone is due the credit for my now being a living man. I beg to thank you most sincerely for the kindness you have shewn me while staying in your house, and in conclusion would earnestly, reoosamend sick peopletonse your Blood Bestorer, as it is the most extra* , ordinary purifler of the blood I ever heard of> or met with in my travels. It is one of the many good gifts of a beneficent Creator to hie suffering children on this earth. ■ W. OPPBBMAtf. Auckland, December 19,1879. . Signed in the presence of G. Voh dbb Hbtdb, Imperial German Consul. Agent for the Thames— GEOEGE DEN BY Bbowk Scans, * GBAHAMBTOWIT. n
