Earl Granville, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, has made a speech at Hanley, in which he stated it was impossible that the present condition of Ireland could long continue, and that Government intended to introduce measures dealing with the present disorder, and providing for the future happiness of Ireland generally. London, November 26. It has transpired that at a Cabinet Council held yesterday, it was decided by the Ministers that it is unnecessary to adopt measures of coercion for the suppression of the prevailing disorder in Ireland, as the Government had sufficient power under the existing, laws to deal with the agitation. It was moreover decided that it is not necessary to call Parliament together in December. It is understood, however, that Ministers have decided that when Parliament meets in the ordinary course, a bill will be introduced to deal with the Irish land question.
