As is shown from the following interesting p . TALE OF THE PACIFIC! A TALE OF THE PACIFIC. Win. Opperman, Esq., a wealthy island trader, was for tome months lying ill at Happemamma, an island of the Kingtm Group, in the Pacific. He had been seixcd with rheumatic fever, which was followed by complicated disorders of a terribly severe nature, assuming the form of a species of palsy never before known. The sufferer's limbs swelled, the legs lost all sensibility to pain; the foot cotild bewrenohedroundor the skin pierced with a lance without in. flicting the slightest sufferipg. The sick man was evidently unconscious of his having legs, and his brain was seriously affected at if with, lunacy. In this deplorable state he was kindly brought from the islands to Auck land by Mr H. Henderson in the schooner Coronet, Captain Moeller, and, being a German, he was reoeived, by the German Consul, G. Yon der Heyde, Esq., and placed in the District Hospital, where he reoeived treatment for three weeks with no indication of improvement, bis case being pronounced by one and all a hopeless one. The captain of the Coronet, knowing that extraordinary cures ;had been effected by the use of Hitohens' Celebrated Blood Restorer requested the proprietor of the Blood Restorer to take the case in hand, and a epntraot was entered into of "No cure, no pay." Mr Hitchens proceeded to the Hospital, ex* amined the invalid and found him in an apparently dying state, with soarcely a spark of life left. Mr Hitohent ordered the suffering man to be re* moved to.his (Mr Hi) private residence, where his wants could be personally attended to by Mr Hitchens. The latter administered the medicine (the Blood Restorer) and used the ointment freely. Meanwhile clergymen called, pronouncing the case beyond, the power of man to effect a cure. However after six weeks the effect of the medicine became wonderfully apparent. The Blood Restorer had acted steadily bat surely on the blood; the deadly impurities were gradually eliminated from the system until the stream of life flowed unchecked in its natural channels over the entire man. The brain became clear and active, and the limbs once again rejoiced in natural circulation, the patient rising to his feet cured of diseases which had baffled the skill of leading physicians, a living proof of the wonderful beating powers of Hitchens 1 Celebrated Blood Restorer. TESTIMONIAL^ Auckland, NX To H. A. H. Hitchens, Esq. %. Before leaving Auckland on my retwi ■ voyage to thejslands, I have to perform toe pleasing duty of acknowledging the surprising cure I have reoeived at your hands. Coming to Auckland as I did a dying man, being palsied and generally unconscious, and hearing from others that no hope of recovery was held out by medical men, I look upon i you now as the preserver, of my life. I am convinced that to your medicine alone is due the credit for my now being a living man. I beg to thank you most sincerely for the kindness you have shewn me while staying in your house,'and in conclusion, would earnestly recommend sick people to use> your Blood Restorer, as it it the most extraordinary purifier of the blood I ever heard of, or met with in my travels. It is one of Qr^ many good gifts of a beneficent Creator tr J hj, suffering children on this earth. W. OPMPjjAff. Auckland, December 19,1879. Signed in the presence of G. Yon deb Hbtdk, Imperial German Consul. Agent for the Thames GEO RG E DEN BT, Bbowk Stmbt, GRAHAMBTOWN. 8S
