TIMARU.

This day. An inquest was held at Pleasant Point on the body of Louis Haddon, a very old settler in this district. Baddon, in company with his grandson aged 10 years, left the point in a cart on Wednesday evening for his farm, and yesterday morning the cart was found up-turned, Mr Baddon lying dead underneath, but the boy is still missing, and as his hat was found in the Opihi river close by, it is supposed he is drowned.
