DUNEDIN.
This day. Referring to the Australian Cricketers, the Star says:—" We are given to understand that as the result of the recent negociation, A. Halienar, the represetative of the team in this colony will telegraph on Friday to Mr Alexander, offering a lump sum for a New Zealand tour, and freeing them from all expenses in connection therewith. The terms are such as will render them at once acceptable to the eleven, and it may be concluded that a visit of the Australians to New Zealand is settled. Capt. J. Robertson, signal-master at Port Chalmers was drowned last night. He fell from the gangway of the ship Dunedin into the water, and although he was soon picked up, all efforts to restore him to consciousness were without avail.
