THE Evening Star. PUBLISHED DAILY AT FOUR O'CLOCK P.M. Resurrexi. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 1880.
Ik another column will be seen the public notification under the hand of Mr Warden Kenrick, informing all whom it may concern that the Te Aroha gold mining district will be open for occupation on and after Thursday next, the 25th inst. Miners' rights and business licenses can be obtained at the Grahamstown Warden's Office, after the 20th, and at the Warden's Office, Te Aroha, after the 22nd. It is likewise notified that the maximum area to be pegged out is fife acres, and that all disputes regarding priority of right will be decided by the Warden on the ground. The Hauraki Regulations will be in force with the exception of a few alterations, to which we would especially direct the attention of those disposed to give the new field a trial. Notices to those desirous of taking out business or spirit licenses likewise appear! While on this subject we may mention that the Government are fully determined to open the field without any reservations. They have been very much retarded by those gentry who make their living by playing on the cupidity of the natives, but we are glad to find that they have been outwitted by the able management of Mr Kenrick and Mr G. T. Wilkinson.
