Medical __ rvlBlOT TESTIMONY.. To Mb Graves Aioket, Chemist, Auckland. Sib,—l have much pleasure in bearing testimony respecting the benefits I have derived by using your Compound Syrup of Eucalyptus of Lime and Quinine. I hare been a great sufferer for the last three yean with chest complaint, during which time I have been under the care of skilful medical men, both in New Zealand and the neigh* boring colonies, but cannot say I ever ex perienced any beneficial effect! from their treatment. Last summer I commenced taking your Lime Mixture, and am happy to i inform you that I have been steadily improv* I ing weekly ever since—notwithstanding two or three serere colds I hare had this winter— and am now almost free from complaint, %nd can safely say, undoubtedly it is the best medicine I have erer taken, and as a soothing expectorant not to be equalled. I give you my name and address, not for publication, but as a guarantee that what I state here is truthful, and should you at any time wish to refer any person to me, I shall be most happy to inform them of the benefit* to be derived from a fair trial of your invaluable mixture. I am, &c. M.F.D. (The original letter may be seen on application.) Many others suffering from Bronchial and Lung Complaints have borne witness to the unquestionable efficiency of in cases where the usual remedies have failed* The effect upon those afflicted with that dreadful disease CONSUMPTION, and its kindred chest affectioas, is best described in the language of one who experienced benefit, as follows:—" After commencing the medicine the expeotoration came away freely, my cough appeared to lie naturally relieved, and I could then sleep at night, although it was impossible to get sleep previously—my chest seemed to have a weight lifted off it, and I could take a breath with freedom. My appetite is better, and I feel altogether stronger, and in a fair way to recover." This is literally the language of many who have tried the Syrup of Eucalyptus and HypophOsphites of Lime and Quinine. This is a pharmaceutical preparation of genuine worth, deserving the cordial acceptance of the Faculty and the Public Sold if Bottles at 3s 6d Each. COVSV, XIB — On all affections of the Nervous System) ac matter from what cause arising). On all broken-down constitutions. On all diseases arising from early indiscretions. On Grout. On Bheumatism. In these colonies those excesses which we have indulged in " hot youth " tell upon us with fearful interest. - Our regrets are useless, our repinings futile. The sole idea should be the chances we possess of remedying the ills we already have, for combatting the effects likely to result Hide it as he may, put on as good an exterior as he can, still is the victim conscious, that ho is a living lie, and that sooner or later his vices will discover him to the world. Our Faith, our obligations to society at large, the welfare of cur future offspring, and the duty, we owe to ourselves forbids procrastination, and points out to us, not to wait till the ravages break out in our constitutions. Before negotiating with a merchant, before engaging with a confidential clerk { before employing a barrister, a careful man makes enquiries ar their standing, their length of occupancy or residence; and, in the case of • legal adviser, both as to his legal qualifications and as to bis capabilities of transacting the individual business he consults him upon. Strange to say, however, in the selection of a medical man, the sufferer frequently omits these necessary precautions and without regard to the fitness, qualification, -experience and ability for the particular ailment requiring treatment, he consults the' nearest mant whose experience and praotioe, perhaps, lies in Quite, an opposite direction. .... Is it astonishing that so many are driven v mad, are ruined in health, and are bankrupt 1 in spirits, hope and money P.« Have I not for years pointed out to them that I, Dr L. L. Bmith % am {he only legally quatyled medical man advertmng in the Colonies t Have I not also prosecuted, at my own expense, these very quacks, and exposed the various nos- ' trams they are selling,—such as Phosphodyne Essence of Life, fto.—and had them analysed aid found them to consist of "Burnt Sugar and flavoring matter," and the certificates I have pbovid to be all forgeries. It is for this reason that I stop out of the ethics of: the ' profession and advertise, to give those who require the services of my branch an opportunity of knowing they can oonsult a legally qualified man, and one, moreover, who hag made this his eapeoial study.
