THE MINE DRAINAGE.

Through the courtesy of (the Mining Department we are placed in possession of the following figures and facts regarding the mine drainage. The water in the Big Pump shaft is now 336$ feet below the surface, in the Crown Princess 310 feet, and in the Queen of Beauifcy 300 feet. Fifty feet further will leave the Caledonian No. 4 level dry, which should be accomplished in about three weeks. The long submerged plunger will shortly be recovered and pat in working order again.
