THE Evening Star. PUBLISHED DAILY AT FOUR O'CLOCK P.M. Resurrexi. FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 1880.
We are exceedingly pleased to hear that the suggestion in oar columns last evening that a meeting be called here to protest against the Fatetere swindle, has been taken up, as we learn that to-day a memorial has been largely signed asking the acting-Mayor to convene a meeting at once, for such purpose. We are informed that it is the intention of the promoters of this movement to adopt a petition to His Excellency Sir Arthur Gordon to be presented immediately on arrival, asking him to exercise his viceregal prerogative to prevent the contemplated injustice.
