As is shown from the following interestini TALE OP THE PACIFIC! A TALE OF THE PACIFIC. Wm. Opperman, Esq.j a wealthy islani trader, was for some months lying ill a Happemamma, an island of the Eingsm Group, in the Pacific.' He had been seixe< with i rheumatic fever, which was followed b; complicated disorders of a terribly sever nature, assuming the form of a species o palsy never before known.; The sufierer'i , limbs swelled, the legs lost all KnsibUity U pain; the foot could be wrenched round pi the skin pierced with a lance without ii flirting the slightest suffering. The sick mat was evidently unconscious of bis haying legs and bis brain was seriously affected as if,wits lunacy. In this deplorable state he wai kindly brought from, the islands to Auck land by Mr H. Henderson in the aohoonei Coronet, Captain Moeller, and, being i German, he was received by the Germar. Consul, :G. Tod der Heyde, Esq., and placeo in the' District Hospital, where he received treatment for three weeks with no indication of improvement, his ease, being pronounced by one, and *U a hopeless one. the captain of the Coronet, knowing that extraordinary cures had been effected by the use of Hitchens' Celebrated Blood Bestorei requested the proprietor of the Blood Restorer to take/the case in hand, and a contract wai entered into of "No cure, no pay." Mi Hitchens proceeded to the Hospital, examined the invalid and found him in an apparently dying state, with scarcely a spark of life left. Mr Hitoheni ordered the suffering man to be removed to his (Mr Hfy private residence, where his wants could be personally attended .toby Mr Hitchens. The latter administered the medicine (the Blood Restorer) and used the ointment, freely. Meanwhile clergymen called, pronouncing the case beyond the power of man to effect a cure. However \ after six weeks the effect of the medicine became wonderfully apparent. •■ The Blood Restorer had acted steadily but surely en the blood; the deadly, impuiities were gradually eliminated from the system until the stream of life flowed unchecked in iti natural channels over the entire man. The brain became dear and aotrve, and the limbs once again rejoiced in natural circulation, the patient rising to his feet cured of diseases which had baffled the skill of leading physicians, a living proof of the wonderful healing powers of Hitchens 1 Celebrated Blood Bestorer. TESTIMONIAL. Auckland, N.Z. To H. A. H. Hitchens, Esq. Before leaving Auckland en my return voyage to the Islands, I have to perform the pleasing duty of acknowledging the surprising cure I have received at your hands. Cpming to Auckland as I did a dying man, being palsied and generally unconscious, and beanng from others that no hope of recovery was held out by medical men, I look upon you now as the preserver of my life. ' I am convinced that to your medicine alone is due the credit for my now being a living man. I beg to thank you most sincerely for the kindness you have. shewn me wbile staying in your house, and in conclusion would earnestly recommend sick people tense your Blood Bestorer, as it is the most extraordinary, purifier of the blood I ever heard of, or met 'with in my travels. It is one of the many good gifts of a beneficent Creator to his suffering children on this earth. W. OPPEBMAN. Auckland, December 19,1879. Signed in the presence of G.
