The phosphorus seoms to be playing havoc with the sheep in addition to destroying the rabbits. A country resident states on a ran a short distance from Invercargill, upon which there are 9,000 sheep, 150 were found dead within a few weeks, and upon examination of the carcases, it was proved that death had resulted from eating poisoned grain. A fatal accident occurred at the Edensdale railway station last evening It seems that just after the train from Clinton had left the station, a woman named McNaulty attempted to leave one of the carriages and the platform, receiving such injuries that she died in a few moments.
