In the Legislative Council last night a bill was introduced by Sir Charles Sladen, one of the members of the Council, for the Beform of the constitution, which was read a second time-
Melbourne is now thronged with visitors from the country districts, and neighbouring colonies and New Zealand.
It is expected that Murray Smith will lead the Opposition in the Assembly after the departure of Mr Service for England. Melbourne, Wednesday. The following horses are scratched for the Melbourne Cup:—Columbus, Geraldine and Stag. In the Legislative Assembly, Mr Service made a severe attack on the Hon. Mr Berry for the appointment of his son to a position, in the Civil Service from which he had been removed by the Service Ministry, the same is being much commented upon.
