MR J. HORN'S LETTER.

(To the Editor of the Evening Star.)

"But whosoever shall deny me before men, him trill I also deny before my Father which is in heaven." -IMatt. x,33.

Sib,—Having seen Mr J. Horn's letter in last night's Star, I would like with your permission to ask him a question. How has he arrived at the conclusion that Christ made a mistake when he said that all that did not believe in him should be lost? lam aware that Mr J. Horn is a Spiritualist, he acknowledges a future state; can he or any other man think we are put here without a purpose. We have the opportunity to reap our reward ; if we do not try to profit by this opportunity what can we expect when we pass over to the great unknown. If Mr J. Horn thinks Christ was an enthusiast, a man—created God only in the imagination of his followers; still he cannot deny that his precepts are beautiful, and his revision of the Mosaic law sublime; and be be God or man, he is well worthy of being followed by all mankind.-I am, &c, .-. . * B. Shortland, 20th October, 1880. [The views enunciated in Mr Horn's letter mast not be taken as the individual opinions of the writer, but as only representing those held by Spiritualists. We mention this fact so as to nip an apparently controversy.—Ed. Stab,] ■ -■ -•'"..
