The Waipara went out yesterday afternoon with the mails and 25 passengers and 5000 ounces of gold for transhipment to the Hero. The Hero arrived'in the roadstoad about 3 p.m., by which time the wind and sea had increased considerably. The Waipara got alongside, but had to leave without transhipping anything after sustaining considerable damage.
