DEMON' SPIRITISM AND ITS BLASPHEMY.

(To the Editor of tha BvxKiira S>AB.) Sib,—Being curious; to hear the spiritilt, Mr Simon, once more before we gave oar judgment of his teachings, we ; strolled to' the Odd follows' Hall on Wednesday evening last when, after listening Jm_ some hal* hour or so lo the veriest twaddle purporting to be an explanation of. Spiritualism, but which seemed..to have • neither bottom or top, foundation, of, superstructure, and which was really no explanation at all—then came the questions which were put: by various person*,, some of them most pointed and direst,, and upon matters which demanded equally pointed and direct answers—yey, or no; 9 but we did not get them, for in no ease did the lecturer condescend to give any < such answers, but by leading hisenquirers a circuiLous route he endeavored to evade altogether the question propounded; and to land his interrogator in a bog of sophis* < try and mystery. , ! The question put by Mr Wilkinson— ! Was Spiritualism to supersede Christianity, or was it merely an adjunct to . Christianity ?—was a fair sample in the reply given, of Mr Simon's roundabout way of dealing with most of the questions ■ put to him; but this question at any rate should have had an honest and straightforward reply of " Yes, it is intended to/ supplant Christianity altogether, for that' is the teaching of noted, oonfirsaei spiritists;" "■' but the leetorer seemed - puzzled for some minutes for a reply, and. when he did reply, the answer was.that of a' sophist, an evasion of :th»: question, and amounted really to no answer at all. ■- ■ ' '•'

These Demon teachers, however, with all their fencing and sophiitiy, cannot help letting the cat out of the bag sometimes, regarding the blasphemous and immoral dogmas they really hold, and then they use veiy plain and unmistakable ; language, neither oan they help showing the desire they have that theu. hearers should imbibe their infernally pernicious teachings. On the present occasion Mr Simon did let the cat out of the bag entirely, liter

stating the fact that a young person (Miss Richards) was at the present time lecturing on Spiritism at tbe West End of London, be • ventured to inform his hearers that she was the purest being that ever trod the earth. A voice: " Purer than Christ ? " Yes, answers Mr Simon triumphantly, purer than Christ, for he was but a mere mortal, hut Miss Richards was something more flian mortal. This bold, bare-faced assertion touched to the quick some of this worthy's hearers, and the expression, blasphemy, escaped the lips o! more than one of them. Thus it is that these Demon teachers, being themselves under " strong delusion," go to and fro in the earth and seek everywhere to deceive mankind, and they succeed with many—the ignoramuses of the people—who know not the diabolical nature of this fearful delusion. That was proved by tbe applause of some that met the, lecturer's assertion) Millions ore being deceived by the bait—"Beautiful harmonial philosophy "—and are thus booked for Satan's diabolical work presently, and perdition. ' If Christ was nothing more than mortal, then there is no redemption for. man out ot his present afflicted _ and miserable death condition. If Christ was only the Son of trod, "the same as you and I," then the earth's groaning condition must 'Mjntinue to all eternity. But Christ is the celestial Son of the Deity, truly divine and holy, hence there is hope for humanity, hope for its entire recovery from sin, misery, and death to glory, and life eternal, for all power is given to Christ by the Deity in this heaven and in this earth for its recovery out of the hands of its present usurper and rulerSatin—that liar and deceiver of the human race. . ■ By the Apostle John, we of these last days of the rule of evil, are warned regarding the Demon Spiritists, and good advice is also given with his warning words. He writes thus: " Believe not every spirit, but tey the spibits whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gcae out into the world. Hereby know we the Spirit of Gpd. Every Spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh (of man) is of God. But every spirit that confessed not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God, but this is that spirit of Antichrist whereof ye have heard that it should come, and even now—when John wrote—already is in the world." Dembn Spiritism is a very old crone, but in these latter days- puts on a very pretty mask, and men are deceived by the mask'she wears, through not having sufficient knowledge of the dirty, seditious creature to discern her true character. All confirmed spiritists are certain to become the agents and slaves of the coming Antichrist «nd will do hiß diabolical work, they cannot help it. , EditobEnoch. (To be continued.) ■ \ •' .
