As is shown from the following interestin T^LE OF THE PACIFIC! . A TALE OF THE PACIFIC. Wm. Opperaan, Esq., a wealthy islam trader, was for pome months lying ill a Happemamma, an island of the Kingsm Groups in the Pacific. He had been seizei with rheumatic fever, which was followed b complicated disorders of a terribly sever nature, assuming the form of a species c palsy never before known. The suffereV limbs swelled, the legs lost all sensibility t pain; the foot could be wrenched round p the skin pierced With a lanee 1 Without n flicting the slightest Buffering. The sick mai was evidently unconscious of his having leg* and his brain was seriously affected as if wit] lunacy. In this deplorable state be wa kindly brought from the islands to Auck land by Mr H. Henderson in the schopne Coronet, Captain Moeller, and, being i German, he was received by the Germai Consul, Ot. Yonder Heyde, Esq., and place* in the District Hospital, where he receive* treatment for three weeks with no indicatioi of improvement, his case being pronounce! by one and all a hopeless one. The captain of the Coronet,, knowing thai extraordinary cureß had been effected byithi use of Hitchens' Celebrated Blood Restore] requested the proprietor of the Blood Restorei to take the case in hand, and a contract wai entered; into of "No cure, no pay." Mi Hitchene proceeded to, the Hospital, ;ex< amined the invalid and found him] it an apparently dying state, with scarcely a spark of life left. Mr Hitoheni ordered the suffering man to be removed to his (Mr H's) private residence, where his wants could be personally attended to by Mr Hitchens. The latter administered the medicine (the Blood Restorer) and used the 'ointment freely. Meanwhile clergymen oalled, pronouncing the case beyond the power of man to effect a cure. However after six'weeks the effect of the medicine became wonderfully apparent. The Blood Restorer had acted steadily but surely «n tbe blood; the deadly impurities were gradually eliminated from* the system until the stream of life flowed, unchecked in its natural channels over the 'entire man. •The brain became clear and active, and the limbs once again rejoiced in natural circulation, the: patient rising to his feet cured of diseases which had baffled the skill of leading physicians, a living proof of tbe wonderful healing powers of Hitchens' Celebrated Blood Restorer. TESTIMONIAL. ' __ Auckland, N.Z. To H. A. H. Hitchens, Esq. Before leaving Auckland on my return voyage to the Islands, I have to perform the pleasing duty of acknowledging the surprising cure I have received at your hands. Coming to Auckland as I did a dying man, being palsied and generally unconscious, and hearing from others that no hope of recovery was held out by medical men, I look upon you now as the preserver of my life. I am convinced that to your medicine alone is due the credit for my now being a living man. I beg to thank you most sincerely for the kindness you have shewn me while staying in your house, and in conclusion would earnestly recommend sick people to use your Blood Restorer, as it is the most extra* ordinary purifier of the blood I ever heard of, or met with in my travels. It is one of the many good gifts of a beneficent Creator to his suffering children on this earth. W. OPPBBMAN. Auckland, December 19,1879.
