This day. Arrival of the ss. Hero. Arrived: s.s. Hero from Sydney. Patotere Block. The purchasers of the Patetere lands intend publishing a descriptive book of the block with a map, and will endeavor to sell portions in England. Potatoes recently imported from Canterbury were sold here at a loss.
The Hero will probably leave Welling* ton to be handed orer to the Union Co.
Vogel's resignation excites no surprise here.
Meeting of Rofeiasoa's Creditors.
A meeting of Robinson's creditors was held to-day. The Trustees' report showed no cash-book kept up to March last. Bankrupt had paid fifty pounds to John Abbott for a loan of for three months. Seventy pounds were paid on a gambling transaction, and large amounts squandered in drink. The total liabilities are £4386; assets for dividend. £1435. The Trustees reported that the bankrupt had falsified his books. A resolution to prosecute the bankrupt was postponed till next meeting.
