The Eastern Question.
Public feeling running high against Turkey,
Public feeling throughout Europe is indignant at the proposals of the Porte lor the settlement of the Montenegrin and Greek questions.
The continental Press generally expressed extreme disapprobation of the same, while the leading French journals urge prompt action against Turkey to secure a settlement of the difficulties.
The Great Powers, however, are awaiting proposals from England before taking any steps.
In some quarters the blockade of Turkish forts is suggested as a means of coercion towards the Porte.
Tue Czar's new steamer, Lividia, has sailed from Glasgow for Russia.
The Disaffeotion in Ireland. ||In view of the the state of affairs in Ireland,ithe barracks at the various towns in the West of Ireland are being prepared to receive further complements of troops from England. Serious Floods. Owing to heavy rains and storms, serious floods have occurred in the Midland Counties of England.
