THE Evening Star. PUBLISHED DAILY AT FOUR O'CLOCK P.M. Resurrexi. FRIDAY, OCTOBER 8, 1880.
We hare frequently in these columns urged the advisability of the district being represented in the Auckland Waste Lands Board. In our vicinity there are millions of acres of Crown Lands, the disposal of which, as we hare often pointed out, would be better looked after by a Thames man hating a voice in the deliberations of the Board. In several instances from the absence of someone knowing the facts of the case, most egregious blunders have been made by the Board in dealing with lands in this district, " and our interests have suffered considerably in consequence. We learn on good authority that there will shortly be a vacancy,** and we must cordially support the action of the Borough Council in their determination to urge the claims of the district in the direction indicated.
